I usually work in larger size works. While on my journey to paint outside more often I have learned to paint on a smaller scale. Yesterday, I combined small scale along with my love of dead trees on wires.
This piece I'm working on is 8 x 10 and is being done in studio. The collection of works I previously did were uniform in their colours and composition. This one while having the same theme has a looser feel and I have gone in with the light and shadows. I will continue to add detail to the fallen tree in order to make it more of a focal point in the work.
The title of each piece I complete is important to the telling of the story for me. This piece is likely to be named Seen For Months On My Road. That may change though.
After a few months, it has settled in and is probably feeling quite comfortable. I hope it stays that way and doesn't decide to start some trouble :)
