At Lock 31 Buckhorn in August 2024. I spent a few hours painting outdoors with two other artists. I enjoy working with other artists as I can ask for and receive immediate feedback about my work. This was the final outdoor painting session completing the one year project of painting outside weekly.
Having other artists to paint with pushed me to create even on days I may not have felt like painting. I knew that we had a commitment to each other, as well as to myself. Some of my best works came during the cold months when I was hesitant to leave the house. The cold and rain forced me to work quickly and produce work. Without another artist to be accountable to I would not have stretched as a painter and would not have produced works with regularity.
