Deep in the Woods

Updated: Nov 22

When hiking or walking in the woods it is interesting to view how the light is seen through the trees. If the sun is out, there will be stronger light in areas that will help guide you in and out where ever you are. The lights and darks are that help create the workings of the paintings.

This piece was created in the spring as the snow had melted and the smell of the mud and freshness was in the air. It was one of my first larger pieces. Deep in the Woods is 3 feet by 4 feet and it is based on the sketch done in an area around Owen Sound, ON. I realize I should keep better track of the places that I sketch and paint.
